Minecraft castle keep blueprint: before you build

A stone keep designed as a standalone landmark or the center of a larger medieval settlement. Its repeating stone courses make the structure easier to follow, but the upper details reward careful checking from above.

This original design uses 2,653 blocks across 16 layers, with a 25 × 25 block footprint. The blueprint targets Minecraft Java 1.21.4; it is a building reference, not a schematic or an automatic game import.

Building sequence

  1. Mark the full footprint before building; a shifted corner becomes harder to correct once the walls rise.
  2. Raise the main walls a course at a time, following the openings in each layer. Keep a temporary access path as you build.
  3. Check the upper silhouette in 3D, then place the battlements using isolated layers. Add paths and landscaping outside the blueprint after the structure is finished.

Materials for this design

Counts come directly from the blueprint. These are the blocks placed in the build, before converting them into crafting ingredients.

How to read the layers

Layer 1 is the bottom of the blueprint. The map looks down from above, with north at the top. Toggle “Isolate layer” to see only the current level, or leave it off to see the supporting structure underneath. Empty cells mean no block is placed at that position.

Read the builder’s handbook for coordinates, material stacks and JSON exports, or explore the other designs.
