A place for this build
Put the citadel on a broad plateau above a road, leaving extra ground beyond the walls for a village and a dramatic approach to the gate.
The preview shows the exact full-block layout in a simple landscape. Minecraft textures, lighting, doors, stairs and furnishings are finishing touches to add in your world.
Minecraft grand castle blueprint: before you build
The citadel is a complete fortified compound: curtain walls, four hollow towers, a gatehouse and a separate central keep. The large plot leaves a real bailey between the wall and keep. Interior stairs, gates and working defenses are finishing work for your world.
This original design uses 9,997 blocks across 25 layers, with a 43 × 43 block footprint. The blueprint targets Minecraft Java 1.21.4; it is a building reference, not a schematic or an automatic game import.
Building sequence
- Mark the four tower centers and front gate on the full plot, then lay the perimeter foundations around the open bailey.
- Raise the hollow towers and curtain walls together, keeping the entry passage and keep doorway clear at every layer.
- Build the keep floors and roof, finish the crenellations, and add your own stairs, lighting and gate details.

How to read the layers
Layer 1 is the bottom of the blueprint. The map looks down from above, with north at the top. Toggle “Isolate layer” to see only the current level, or leave it off to see the supporting structure underneath. Empty cells mean no block is placed at that position.
