A place for this build
Thread the walk between a gate and tea house or along a pond. Space trees away from the lantern caps so the repeating rhythm remains clear from the entrance.

Minecraft Japanese-inspired lantern path blueprint: before you build
Lantern Walk uses offset paving and pairs of red posts topped with pale lantern shapes. It is a garden feature rather than a powered lighting system; add actual light blocks if you need spawn-safe illumination.
This original design uses 1,222 blocks across 7 layers, with a 25 × 25 block footprint. The blueprint targets Minecraft Java 1.21.4; it is a building reference, not a schematic or an automatic game import.
Building sequence
- Lay the winding stone path from end to end, keeping the bends broad enough to walk comfortably.
- Place each pair of red posts beside the path before adding the pale lantern caps.
- Finish the mossy edges and connect both ends to other garden destinations, adding functional light if needed.
Materials for this design
Counts come directly from the blueprint. These are the blocks placed in the build, before converting them into crafting ingredients.
How to read the layers
Layer 1 is the bottom of the blueprint. The map looks down from above, with north at the top. Toggle “Isolate layer” to see only the current level, or leave it off to see the supporting structure underneath. Empty cells mean no block is placed at that position.
