A place for this build
Place the pond where a garden path can approach one end of the crossing. Leave a little open ground around the border for benches or low trees that reflect in the water.

Minecraft Japanese-inspired koi pond blueprint: before you build
Koi Pond Island frames a cyan decorative pond with a small stone island and short timber crossing. It provides the layout and stepping heights; use actual water, fish and planting when adapting it to your world.
This original design uses 1,275 blocks across 4 layers, with a 25 × 25 block footprint. The blueprint targets Minecraft Java 1.21.4; it is a building reference, not a schematic or an automatic game import.
Building sequence
- Outline the pond border and central island before filling the basin area with your chosen water setup.
- Build the short crossing from the bank toward the island, keeping its path above the pond surface.
- Add the island stones and edge planting, then replace the cyan preview blocks with water if desired.
Materials for this design
Counts come directly from the blueprint. These are the blocks placed in the build, before converting them into crafting ingredients.
How to read the layers
Layer 1 is the bottom of the blueprint. The map looks down from above, with north at the top. Toggle “Isolate layer” to see only the current level, or leave it off to see the supporting structure underneath. Empty cells mean no block is placed at that position.
